Is it possible to survive a high magnitude earthquake?
OK, we have had the crap shaken out of us here in Iriomote-jima over the past few weeks...two 6.6 earthquakes just NNE of here and a Tsunami Warning (we hid up on a mountain above our house...thankfully, nothing big happened.) Anyway, did you experiences many earthquakes during your time in Okinawa or the Japanese Mainland? I grew up in Norther California and went to Graduate School in LA, so I have been through a lot of shakies, but these two were wayyy different from anything I experienced in California. ThanksSorry for the typos...new laptop, still getting used to the keyboard. :-(Steven F: Yeah, we had two "Supertyphoons" this season. One of them really messed up Taiwan...which is about 125 miles from us here.@Mrsjvb: We are about 4 hours south of Naha, on Iriomote-jima...just a stone's throw from Taiwan...and just down the road from Ishighaki Island. Sorry to hear about your status...that sucks!
